PAK-GEMAK
SHARED E-BIKES
PAK’M is a regional shared e-bike network in the municipalities of Steenwijkerland, Noordoostpolder and Westerveld. Spread across 26 pick-up locations – our so-called “hubs” – you’ll find over 150 electric shared bikes ready for residents, commuters and visitors.
The idea behind PAK’M is simple: make the countryside easier to reach and nicer to live in, with an accessible, sustainable and flexible way of getting around. With the app you can quickly grab an e-bike at one hub and drop it off at another PAK’M location. Our light-blue bikes are a great extra option next to public transport, especially in rural areas.
Our network is growing: you can now hop on a bike in the municipalities of Meppel and Zwartewaterland too.

Hub locations
no need to return
to your startingpoint
Your PAK’M ride doesn’t have to be a round trip. You can leave the bike at any official PAK’M hub. That means you can easily travel from A to B without having to return to where you started. Super handy for a one-way ride to work, an appointment, or when you’re catching a bus or train. The first or last few kilometres of your trip are perfect to do by PAK’M e-bike!
combine
with other transport
The PAK’M shared bike is specifically designed to connect with other modes of transport. Many hubs are located at bus stops or near train stations, making it easy to transfer from bus or train to your bike. You can also combine the shared bike with walking or boat routes. This creates a chain of transport options, tailored to the rhythm of the countryside.

Between the reed beds near Belt-Schutsloot or under the trees around Ossenzijl, true relaxation begins. GETTING THERE TOGETHER
A more accessible and liveable countryside
In rural areas, regular public transport often doesn’t get you everywhere you want to go. PAK’M isn’t the one solution, but it’s a really valuable extra option. It’s a concrete step towards a future where accessibility and liveability go hand in hand. Municipalities, provinces, businesses and residents are all invited to think along: which types of transport work where, and for whom? With PAK’M, we can easily gain real-life experience together.
A great option for locals too
The shared bikes aren’t just handy for tourists – they’re especially useful for people who live here. Think of a student from Blokzijl who misses the bus but still makes their connection in Zwolle or Groningen thanks to an e-bike. Or someone from Kuinre who can’t get home from Oldemarkt by public transport in the evening, but can still ride back on a PAK’M bike. Shared bikes fill in the gaps in the existing transport network: they make the very first and very last kilometre of your trip a lot easier.
Use the bike for fun too
Cycle from hotspot to hotspot and explore the landscape without parking stress or a tight travel schedule. The PAK’M network crosses borders: for example, you can start in the Noordoostpolder and finish in Weerribben-Wieden National Park. The e-bike makes longer distances easy and comfortable, even if you’re out all day.
